1950’s LILLI ANN Mitered Stripe GAB SUIT & Matching Purse
Very hard to find, 1950’s “Lilli Ann” Black Gabardine Suit w/black-white Chevon mitered stripe Swing Jacket. She carried this matching purse w/the suit so I’m including that for you. Padded shoulders, two-button front jacket, lined deep pockets. Beautiful cuffs on this piece, ultra-wide & accented w/one covered button at the rear of each. Metal zipper in skirt, measures waist 32”, hip 41”, length 25 3/4” w/3 3/4-4” to let down if needed. Jacket measures bust 44”, waist 50”, sleeve 20 1/2”, shoulder seam to seam 16”. Beautiful box pleat falls softly from the center point of the rear chevron, intermittent fade as shown to the black rayon lining. Suit is in overall excellent condition, ready to wear. A few teeny irregular specks of black in the weave at rear upper back as shown (these are not moth holes). The hem of lining has been re-basted and has a slight unevenness that is a non event, tiny slit fray in the lining that is barely visible/of no consequence. The waistband has been let out (view pic), she added the front short vent for some reason. Rear kick pleat in skirt which has a partial liner. Fabric feels to be primarily a Rayon & wool gabardine blend. The store tag was shoddily re-stitched & both tags are loose at one side, I just always opt to leave things as I find them.
