1920’s Magenta Pink SILK VELVET COCOON OPERA CAPE

Approaching 100 years, Flapper Cocoon Cape with Horizontal Ruched Ruffle at Flounce, Silk Lined with Rabbit Fur High-Neck Collar. Lavish Trim Detail on inside Front edge that Looks & Feels like Glass Beaded Trim but is in actuality a Woven Tapestry. The Interior lining is done in both Ivory Silk Crepe & Magenta Velvet that runs horizontally striped at the lower portion. Long Neck Ties (show moderate wear) and interior shoulder strap ties to wear the Cape “Dropped” so that it boxes the shoulders in True Gatsby Style. Fine Condition, it’s early age considered. No major stains noted other then those at the collar, which exhibits both dirt & staining, but no shedding, small pinhole at fur collar as shown. When secured at neck, the width around at elbows measures approx. 54″. Length rear collar seam to hem-42 1/2″. There is a small weak point in the weave of the cape at the rear upper neckline (see pic). Some light staining at the silk lining and some small tears as shown. The upper edge of the velvet band at the inside lining needs re-tacked intermittently. Extraordinary Vintage Garment for the Collection.
