1940’s Wool TWEED & SUEDE BOMBER JACKET SUIT *SCARCE
Very Hard to find Style, Vintage late 1940’s “Royal Suedes New York” Wool Tweed & Suede Suit for “Jerome Litt Co. Pittsburgh”. Two-Tone Bomber Jacket with Russet Suede, the same bands the rear of the notched rolled cuffs & bisects the front of the pencil skirt. Suede Waistband & accent at rear vent. The tweed is brown & taupe flecked with periwinkle blue in the weave. Jacket is lined in Rayon Crepe, skirt is unlined & has side metal zipper. Jacket measures Chest-36″, Waist-28″, Shoulder seam to seam-15″, Sleeve-21 1/2″, Rear collar seam to hem-18 3/4″. Skirt Waist-Snug 26″, Hip-35″, Length-25 1/2″. Overall Very Good Condition, no moth damage or holes noted. Mend at the rear collar measuring 3/8″ X 1/2″, faint yellowed 1/4″ X 1/4″ spot at front left skirt 5 1/2″ below the zipper, (another of the same below rear waistband, both are ultra faint). Faint small spot at rear sleeve. The darker tone you see at the upper inside lining is due to an interior wool flap at the interior rear jacket showing through the sheerer crepe. Several pinholes in the lining of the jacket, possible mend at the tiny suede patch above the rear vent of the skirt, small spot at collar, (all of these are shown in the pics), I did not include photos of all of the pinholes in the lining, (just one example in last photo). Surface dirt/yellowing at the inside crease of the collar. Priced accordingly, rare & wonderful piece.
